Dr. Wagner treats several patients from the Alexandria area that are hurt while working. According to the National Safety Council, the most common kind of work injury is musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which involves injuries to the muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments and joints. MSDs account for more than one third of all workplace injuries.
The most frequent type of MSD is a strain, which is trauma to a muscle or tendon. Strains can be caused by lifting, pushing or pulling too much weight, or by doing repetitive movements. Other typical MSDs include carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis and back discomfort.
These injuries can be prevented by using appropriate lifting techniques, taking several breaks and using ergonomic devices. Employers can also help put a stop to injuries by providing their employees educational sources on how to avoid getting hurt at work.
Back issues and injuries are a common issue that Dr. Wagner sees in our #Ciyt# office and we also work with people who have shoulder or neck issues.
If you have suffered a work injury or accident and live in the Alexandria area, give Dr. Wagner a call and schedule an appointment today. We will work with you to create a treatment plan that will help you get relief and do our best to get you back on the job as soon as we can!
